Named after Joseph Higgins, the first President of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Union County, NJ, this award celebrates those who continue his legacy of educational excellence and service.
This year, we are proud to recognize Bill Tracy as the recipient of the Joseph Higgins Award. With over 32 years of coaching experience, including 24 years as a head football coach, Bill has significantly impacted high school athletics in New Jersey. He currently serves as the Head Coach and Athletic Director at Saint Joseph High School in Metuchen.
Throughout his career, Bill has demonstrated a profound commitment to developing young athletes both on and off the field. His coaching tenure includes leading Livingston High School to a state championship in 2008 and guiding Ridge High School to a perfect 12-0 season and a state title in 2013.
Beyond his impressive coaching record, Bill is dedicated to instilling values of integrity, discipline, and perseverance in his players, preparing them for success beyond their athletic endeavors. His leadership and mentorship have left a lasting impact on countless students, embodying the spirit of the Joseph Higgins Award.
